Class Descriptions

This is an intensive 2 1/2 hour session for instructors in day care and early childhood facilities. Caregivers will learn and practice many American Sign Language signs through songs, books and play activities. Session cost is $40 per instructor with a $300 minimum. One hour weekly or monthly followup: $75/hour.

Training program for parent groups inside facility runs 2 hours. $45 per parent includes book. $200 minimum.

Classes are 45 minutes a week for 6 weeks. Classes are based on Dr. Joseph Garcia’s SIGN with your BABY™ American Sign Language program and include showing parents how to introduce signs and incorporate them into daily life, as well as lots of activities, stories, and songs to use with their children. There will be lots of time to practice using signs and to interact with your baby and other parents/babies. Each class is based on a weekly theme. This parent/caregiver and tot class meets once a week for 6 weeks, 45 minutes per session. Parents/caregivers and children will learn and practice many American Sign Language signs through songs, books and play activities. Using sign language may improve your child's IQ and language skills and give your little one the foundation for a second language, so continue the signing at home and on family outings. These classes are 6 week, 45 minute classes created for children in Kindergarten - 5th Grade. Students will learn the basics of ASL in a fun, language-rich, educational environment. Classes will include songs, games, and various activities to make learning fun. Topics such as Deaf culture, basic greetings, the manual alphabet, colors, numbers, emotions, animals, and more may be discussed. All handouts included. Introductory offer $110

Gather at least 4 families and I can hold the classes in the comfort of your home. Gather at least 6 families in your home for the classes and receive 50% off the normal class fees for the host family. Gather at least 8 families in your home and the host family's fee will be waived. Please contact to set up a date. $110 per parent & child.

* For up to 15 students, $180 flat rate. Depending on your location, no additional mileage or travel. This is a one hour class which will include basics such as the alphabet, numbers, seasonal/holiday signs (coinciding with when class is scheduled) and an activity packet.

During the developmental stage (ages 3-5), ASL allows for more precise communication and increased vocabulary, which in turn, empowers children, because along with the power and ability to communicate, ASL promotes self challenge. Children with signing skills can have their needs met, express their feelings without the added frustrations, demonstrate leadership skills and their language development progresses at a quicker rate.

Children of all ages love to incorporate ASL into their daily lives, which is why so many educators in preschool and elementary school settings are finding ways to blend it into their curriculum.
